Malibu C clarifying shampoos

If your hair still feels dirty after washing it's time to reset your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Build up makes your hair feel waxy, like there's a film coating your hair. It will also make your scalp dry and itchy. Regular shampoo won't remove this and you'll notice little to no lather. You'll need a stronger cleanser, it's time for a reset. Read on to learn what causes build up, how to avoid it, and what clarifying shampoo is best for your hair.

Build up is caused by heavy styling products like hairspray, hard water exposure, chlorine exposure, and work environments where you are exposed to debris. Example: construction sites.

How often someone will need to use a clarifying shampoo will vary depending on the cause. It can vary between once a week to once a month. I do not recommend daily use in most cases because they are not usually color safe and can cause dryness if over used.

Malibu C Undo Goo Shampoo

If you are someone that uses hairsprays, gels, waxes, oils, and dry shampoo regularly using a clarifying shampoo once a month is recommended. Clarifying shampoo doesn't just remove build up in hair but also on the scalp. Which is important to remember when using dry shampoo daily. I recommend using Malibu C Undo Goo Shampoo once a month.

Malibu C Hard Water hair scrub

Hard water is the most common build up that I see behind the chair. Minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron are common and make the rim of your tub orange. They will also make your hair feel waxy but also brittle and look dull and brassy. It is the most visibly noticeable with blondes.

At the salon I will first use Malibu C Hard Water hair scrub. It starts as powder but when scrubbed on to wet hair turns into a jelly scrub. They make one for hard water and chlorine. I will sometime recommend these for take home but only in extreme build up cases.

Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Shampoo

Then after I use Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Shampoo which is what I recommend for take home and to use once a week to maintain remove. However I also recommend attaching a water filter to your shower head to filter out minerals. I recommend Kitsch's shower head filter that can attach to any shower head or Sproos's if you want a new shower head with a filter built in. Plus Sproos shower heads come in a variety of different colors, I have the lavender one. I am not affiliated with these brands but I have used both and high recommend.

Malibu C Swimmers Wellness Shampoo

The last shampoo I am going to talk about today is Malibu C Swimmers Wellness Shampoo. It is a must for swimmers. Chlorine will fade hair color, turn blondes to a muddy greenish hue, and make hair so dry. It is so important to wash your hair after a swim, this is a must with salt water too. I recommend not getting your hair wet to begin with however if you're an active swimmer then its unavoidable. I recommend using Malibu C Swimmers Wellness Shampoo after every swim.
