Figuring out if you are experiencing hair shedding or hair loss can be tricky to determined. Here are 4 ways to tell the difference.
1.) Look At The Fallen Hair Strands.
Hair that is shedding will often have a small white bulb at the root. While hair loss will not have a white bulb or break mid shaft.
2.) Notice The Difference in Regrowth.
Hair shedding maintains overall fullness. Hair loss regrowth is noticeable. You will notice more short hairs and finer texture. Thinning is visible. With the scalp being more noticeable with a widened part, thinning crown, temples or patches.
3.) Timing
Hair shedding is temporary, only lasting a few months. Increased shedding is common 3 months after stress, illness, childbirth, dieting, or seasonal changes. Where hair loss is gradual and often doesn’t improve on its own without product support.
4.) The Amount Of Hair In Your Brush.
When your hair is shedding you will notice an increased amount of hair in your brush or in the shower. Hair loss you will not because it is gradual. Hair shedding is sudden.
